2013 — COMMERCIAL BAR/BREWERY
Located in Raleigh’s downtown warehouse district, this newbrewing company had specific needs including rickshaw storage, bar seating, beer brewing, an ingredient repository and keg refrigeration. The existing masonry shell and wood-steel hybrid ceiling was celebrated by removing years of disparate additions and renovations. To introduce and enhancenatural light, two existing skylights were joined by a new continuous wrapper and a new overhead glass door was added. Critical space was dedicated and coordinated to support a LED light and bicycle chain installation and a kinetic bike sculpture by local artist, Nate Schaffer.
