BB RESIDENCE
UNDER ONE ROOF
FALL 2018 — RESIDENTIAL PROJECT
The BB Residence unites a couple after years of living in separate houses on the same block. The project's challenges were an abundance of ground floor program and restrictive corner lot setbacks. The design response extends the footprint within the setback boundaries, stacking additional program above, and joins the combined households through form with a wrapping roof. Shared public area connects the separate programs through light filled, double height space and opens to a modest, private courtyard bordered by a cast in place landscape wall to provide retreat and security. Two houses join under one roof.
